Absent Yachts
If you will be out of the Marina for a while, please, don’t tell your friends, tell the Marina office! This way, your usual berth can be allocated to a temporary yacht, and best use can be made of the Marina. Visiting yachts are not permitted to enter vacant berths unless the Marina office has confirmation that the resident yacht is out. To avoid confusion, only the Berthing Master can allocate a berth in the Marina.
After the Storm – Thank You
With a little bit of help from above, and good preparation and vigilance on the part of marina staff, security and many of the yacht owners, the marina came through the weekend’s storm relatively unscathed. A big thank you to the residents for making the 56 guest yachts welcome, and thank you to the guests for the work to keep your own and residents’ yachts safe. We hope to see you again under better circumstances!
Welcome to Unexpected Guests
The Creek Developments Plc Msida & Ta’Xbiex Marina welcomes the 56 unexpected guest yachts, assorted small fishing vessels and the AFM SAR boats, sheltering in the Marina over the coming days. We thank you for your cooperation, and your willingness to work with Marina residents and staff to ensure all the yachts are safe.
Continuing Severe Weather
The wind is forecasted to back to the NE and pick up again to F7-8, peaking in strength about 10am on Sunday 11th March, dropping to F5-6 by the evening. Yacht owners are advised to check their yachts frequently and be prepared to take action to prevent damage to their own and other marina users yachts.
Severe Weather Warning
A North Easterly gale is expected from Friday 9th March 2012. Owners of yachts facing into the North East are advised to check their ropes and ensure that their boats are securely tied away from the pontoon, fenders are in place and loose items are secured.
Shelter from North Easterly gale
Currently there are berths available for yachts needing to take shelter in the Marina for a few days in anticipation of this weekend’s forecasted strong North Easterly winds. BEFORE entering the marina, contact the Marina Office on 21337049, to present valid insurance and registration for the yacht. The Berthing Master will direct you to a suitable berth.
